We have been busy in the studio with exciting music projects from artists and bands from all over the globe. In particular, we have had the pleasure of working with Rainer Regatschnig again on a new Fred Astaire project. Following on from the success of the last project – an E.P of Fred Astaire ‘Puttin’ on the Ritz’ remixes we now move on to another classic song penned by Irving Berlin ‘Cheek to Cheek’, which was originally written for the 1935 film ‘Top Hat’.
For the project we recorded singer Alex Larke known for his performance at the Eurovisions 2015. For recording we used an RCA ribbon microphone, which was popular in the 50’s. This mic gave the recording the vintage sound we were going for.
Once Alex laid down the vocals we moved on to producing our own remix for the E.P. The E.P will feature 5 remixes from different producers around the world so we are honoured to feature on it. The remix was produced using some of our arsenal of synths and drum machines that we have in the studio. We then used the talents of singer Gani Tamir who sang some super soulful harmonies and catchy melodies and guitarist Omar Marantz who provided groovy rhythm guitars and jazzy licks that add bags of character to this remix. We can’t wait for it to be released!
And finally we will be mastering the 5 track E.P here at the studio. We will be running it through our trusty Avalon 474, which give it a warm and clear tone, perfect for worldwide release! Watch this space, there will be more info when it is released!
